Polymer clay is one of the coolest things ever. I love to make gifts for friends and family, and this is a really nice way to do it. Your imagination is the limit, anything is possible. There will be a lot of pictures here of some fun examples and ideas, and even jewelry.
This sunset is made with a new technique that I have just found. It is basically painting pictures with clay. I love how it turned out, and I think being able to write the family name in the sand made it even better.
I have also tried a necklace with the same “painting” technique. This was my first try at something so tiny. It is not perfect by far, but not bad for my first time.
So cool! I have had a half pound box, never opened, sitting in a drawer in my home “studio.” Obviously an impulse buy.
Love the way you painted the sky- hard to believe it’s a first try!
I have to ask, why the quotes around the word painting? Did you use a special technique?
I’m definitely looking at more if your work- I make a lot of jewellery so I’ll be looking for those!
As always, thanks for the inspiration, you never fail to inspire!!!
Thank you! I think I just added the quotes because it is kind of like painting but with no paint? I don’t know if there is a special technique, I just put strips of clay for the sky, and rubbed them in with my fingers. It was an experiment and I was just happy it turned out! I thought it was fascinating, because it is like painting a landscape, but using hard strips of clay.
