Every year, the girls and I plant a random assortment of vegetables and flowers. But this year we were give some pallets to play with. So after looking around online for some ideas, we decided on a pallet garden with cinder blocks around the edge.
For the girls, the fun part was spray painting the cinder blocks. We found some cheap spray paint at Walmart, so I let them each pick a color.
Now, let me just say that I did NOT have much fun getting this pallet ready. The boards were not evenly spaced, and taking them off to respace them was a pain. I am sure it took me much longer than it should have.
Anyway, we put down some weed stopper sheets and set the pallet on top of it, making sure there was enough of the sheet left for the cinder blocks to sit on it. Next, piece by heavy piece, I placed the cinder blocks around the pallet.
Finally the girls got to play in the dirt, squishing it into all the little spaces. Now it’s ready for some plants!!!
The finished product.
Can’t wait to see the harvest!
