For this, I used a generic salt dough recipe I found in a google search.

1 cup salt, 1 cup water and 2 cups of flour

While making the dough, I split it into different piles so I could add color to it. I used acrylic paint and it seemed to work really well. Basically, this is like playing with playdo. Any shape imaginable could be made with this, but I wanted to focus on Valentines day. I used a needle to engrave some of the hearts and filled the letters in a skinny marker after it baked. Baking time will vary depending on how thick and big each piece is. It would be best to look up cooking time based on recipe and thickness. I was experimenting and mixing colors just for fun, but I do really like the end results. The first picture I made for myself, the second one was for my girls. They each got a flower, a necklace with their name on it and a little pocket heart.
